Choctaw County Sports
Boswell High School is located in Choctaw County Oklahoma.
Recent Boswell graduate Kamden Edge plays for the Quad City River Bandits, a Minor League Baseball team.
"On the historical and community side, Boswell has a unique piece of local lore: the town itself was originally named Atney when it was founded in Indian Territory prior to Oklahoma statehood, before being renamed in honor of a prominent local pioneer family, the Boswells, when the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway came through."
Markell Henderson is another prominent local sports product who graduated from Boswell High School. A standout 6-foot-5 guard/forward, Henderson put together an impressive basketball resume: At Boswell High, he averaged 23 points and 13 rebounds per game as a senior, earned team MVP honors, led his squad to a county championship, and received a McDonald's All-American nomination. College Career: After playing at Murray State College and playing NCAA Division I basketball at Tennessee Tech, he finished his college career closer to home at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Savage Storm Success: As a senior at Southeastern, he was named an All-GAC Second Team selection after averaging over 14 points and 5 rebounds per game, helping anchor the Savage Storm.
